Meet Kristyn
After experiencing first hand the incredible benefits of massage therapy following a car accident, Kristyn decided to return to school to become a massage therapist herself.
Kristyn brings more than eleven years of experience to her practice, with a BA in psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a massage therapy diploma from Sutherland Chan. Over the years she has worked in both spa and clinical settings including Body Blitz, Toronto Bodyworks, and Ohana Wellness Clinic.
Operating a solo practice in her beloved Roncesvalles community, Kristyn provides a welcoming and safe space for you to feel at ease.
During her treatments she uses an intuitive touch that is both therapeutic and relaxing. With a repertoire of techniques in her toolbox, her treatments are uniquely customized to the needs and goals of each client to make sure they receive a personalized approach that will work best for them.
Since becoming registered in 2012, Kristyn has completed additional training in:
NISA
Craniosacral Therapy
Trauma Informed Care
Indian Head Massage
Cranial Techniques for RMT's
Neolifting Facial Sculpting and Buccal Massage
Kristyn is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO).
Modalities

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is the most common type of massage and is known for its long, flowing strokes.
Oil is used (sparingly) to allow enough glide for the therapist to perform a range of techniques, while keeping a slow and relaxing pace. The depth of pressure can be as deep as you and your body require.
Some of the benefits of Swedish massage include:
relieve stress and anxiety
relieve pain
improve sleep quality
elevate mood
increase range of motion
Looking for deep tissue massage? You can find that here too.

Pregnancy Massage
Relieve the discomforts of pregnancy with a relaxing and restorative treatment for expecting moms.
This massage treatment will help to:
improve circulation
relieve lower back pain
alleviate pressure on joints
reduce swelling in legs
This treatment is typically performed in a side lying position for the comfort and safety of you and your baby.
Post-partum treatments are also important for a parent. After baby is born, massage can be an effective way to soothe your mental and physical stresses.

NISA
Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment is a deep tissue technique that works directly on the fascial layers of the body. NISA uses a shallow angle of entry with a small amount of oil.
The technique involves a "spreading" of the fascial layers in order to:
stretch and soften
reduce restrictions and adhesions
help restore function and postural alignment to the body
NISA is a technique that I frequently use in most of my treatments.

TMJ Pain and Dysfunction
This focused treatment of the face and jaw works to alleviate the pain and tension caused by:
teeth grinding
jaw clenching
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
While a lot of relief can be found with massaging the external jaw, we can also work intra-orally (using gloves, of course).

Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is an Ayurvedic practice that has been used in India for more than 2000 years and focuses on the head, neck, face and shoulders.
Traditionally this soothing treatment is performed in a seated position and uses oil in the hair. However, my treatment has been adapted for the table without oil.
Besides being incredibly relaxing, the benefits of this massage can include:
promotion of hair growth
headache prevention/reduction
relief of muscle tension
alleviate sinus issues and eye strain
quiet the mind
renew and balance energy levels

Cranial Techniques
Derived from osteopathy, these gentle techniques involve a subtle manipulation of the joints and tissues of the skull.
Using a very light touch, these techniques release fascial tension and balance the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through the central nervous system.
Cranial techniques can be helpful for those afflicted with many conditions, such as:
headaches and migraines
sleep issues
fibromyalgia
TMJ
stress, anxiety, depression

What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so with a MINIMUM of 24 hours. If you reschedule or cancel with less than 24 hours and the slot doesn't rebook, or you miss your appointment, I will have to charge the full fee. Thank you for respecting my time!
What forms of payment do you accept?
Preferred methods are e-transfer or debit. If you wish to pay in cash, please have exact change, or the difference will be applied as a credit for your next visit. I also accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Please note that the first time you book online, you will be asked to provide your credit card details. This is only needed to secure your booking, and your card will not be charged.
Do you do direct billing?
I don't at this time, but you will be provided with a receipt via email, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Do you treat kids?
Yes, I do! Children carry heavy backpacks to school and participate in a range of activities that can be hard on their bodies, just like adults. Since children can sometimes be anxious or fidgety with longer treatments, I offer 30 minute sessions for children under age 15 at a rate of $75 plus HST. Please get in touch with me directly by text, phone or email to book a shorter treatment.
Should I leave a tip?
Though it’s a lovely gesture, it is absolutely not necessary! If you enjoyed your treatment, the best way to tip is with a referral or leaving a positive Google review.
